How we keep barters honest
Bartering with strangers will never be 100% safe — but here's how HarderUBarter stacks the deck in your favor, and what we ask of you in return.
Public reputation
Every trader has a visible 'trades completed' badge. Refuse to trade with unproven users until you're comfortable. New accounts show 0 trades for a reason.
48-hour shipping deadline
Once a trade is accepted, both parties have 48 hours to upload tracking. If one party doesn't, the trade auto-cancels and the no-show gets a strike on their record. 3 strikes → auto-banned.
Confirm receipt
Reputation only updates when BOTH parties confirm 'I got it.' One-sided confirmation does not count. This protects you from fake reputation farming.
Direct chat first
Read the vibe before you accept. Ask questions. Video chat if you want. Trust your gut — if it feels off, refuse the offer. There's never a fee to refuse.
Report a user
Every offer thread has a Report button. Reports go directly to a real human (Ronnie) for review — usually within 24 hours. We don't use bots for moderation.
Strike system
Failed shipments, refusal to confirm, abusive chat — all earn strikes. 3 strikes = auto-ban + active listings removed. We're not afraid to remove bad actors.
Best practices we recommend
- 01Always ship with tracking. No exceptions. If the carrier doesn't offer tracking, use a different carrier.
- 02Insure anything over $50. USPS Priority, UPS, and FedEx all offer cheap insurance. It's worth it.
- 03Require signature on delivery for items over $100. Stops "package never arrived" disputes.
- 04Ship simultaneously. Coordinate in chat: "I'll drop mine off Monday, can you do the same?" Then both upload tracking on the same day.
- 05Start small. Do a low-value trade first to feel out a new partner before committing to a big one.
- 06Trade with established users when possible. Look for the reputation badge with 3+ completed trades.
What we'll never claim
We are not an escrow service. Running real escrow requires state licenses we don't have, and any site that "guarantees" your trade is usually charging massive fees or operating illegally. We're a connection platform. The trade itself happens between you and your trade partner. We give you tools to reduce risk; we cannot eliminate it.
If something goes wrong
- 1. Open the offer thread → tap Report user → describe what happened. We'll review within 24 hours.
- 2. If you've been scammed (item not received, fake item shipped), file a USPS Mail Fraud report at uspis.gov/report and your local police. Mail fraud is a federal crime.
- 3. If you paid via Stripe (listing fee), and the issue relates to our service, contact us — we issue refunds for legitimate problems.
- 4. Email us directly at rexcloose2020@gmail.com — a real human (Ronnie) reads every email.
One last thing
HarderUBarter is built in memory of Heath Rowland — a friend and mentor who would have wanted this place to be honest. We will always pick traders over fees, and we will always remove bad actors. Trade hard. Trade honest.
